Syreeta Scott is the founder of Duafe Holistic Hair Care
in Philadelphia. She credits her mother's lack of hairstyling
skill as the inspiration for her interest, passion for,
and elf education in the ways of natural hair care. Her
salon has served a diverse male and female clientele, including
celebrities such as Jill Scott, ?uest Love of the Roots,
poet/author Sonia Sanchez, Floetry, Les Nubiennes, Viktor
Duplaix, and Kindred; as well as Philadelphia radio personalities
Patty Jackson (WDAS-FM), Donya Blaze and Tiffany Bacon (both
of WUSL-FM). She is a volunteer at Temple University, where
she teaches a course "Hair Stories" in the Pan
African Studies Community Education Program. Syreeta is
a graduate of Hampton University, where she majored in mathematics.
- Secretary—Aisha White
Aisha White began her professional career at The
Council on Foundations in Washington, DC. In order to pursue
her growing interest in the music industry, she moved to
New York to take a position at Epic Records, where she worked
in marketing and promotions, moving up the ranks to become
the National Director of Street Promotions and Marketing.
She left Epic in 2001 and has been the general manager of
several artist management companies including C.I.D. Management
(Jill Scott, Mike Phillips, Down To The Bone) and Rockstar
Entertainment (Glenn Lewis, producers Vidal Davis and Andre
Harris). During this time, she has continued to guide the
growth of her own marketing company, AIB Marketing, whose
clients include The Coca-Cola Company, Epic Records, Hidden
Beach Records, and the International Association of African
American Music. Aisha is a graduate of Cornell University.
